Gender Swapped Taming of the Shrew in Arlington

Thanks to hermionesviolin's post, I just remembered this group and that there are people here who might be interested in this show.|
I'm directing a gender swapped production of Taming of the Shrew being done in Arlington on March 22, 28 and 29. We've got the men playing the women's parts and vice versa. Some people view Shrew as a misogynistic, outdated play. The experiment I wanted to try was whether by swapping the roles it becomes simply a love story between two socially maladjusted people. While I expected this to be interesting, I have been fascinated at what swapping the genders has done. In the hope that some of you will come see it, I won't say more so your own experience won't be tainted one way or the other.
Verse and Vodka Theater takes a bit of an unconventional approach to theater for all our shows. We perform at the Arlington Elks Club in the function room. The bar opens an hour before the show so people can socialize with friends, the bar stays open throughout the show and people are welcome to hangout after the show until 11:00. Performances are semi-staged with scripts in hand and actors moving among the audience. We charge pay-what-you-can with a suggested price of $10.
Verse and Vodka's website is here.
Tickets are available at Brown Paper Tickets here.
Intriguing .. thanks for posting!
I think I'm going to try to go this Saturday. Are the tickets just general admission seating? (I may try to bring some friends, but I may also try to make sure to score myself a ticket sooner rather than later.)
7pm is when the show starts, right (not when the bar opens)?
Tickets are general admission. Bar opens at 7:00 pm. Show is at 8:00. Glad you think it's an intriguing idea too!
